What is the Surface Hub?
The Library Surface Hub is an interactive whiteboard for presentations and videoconferencing. It is an 84 inch screen with multi-pen, multi-touch capacity, mounted in the library commons area. The Surface Hub operates Microsoft Windows 10 Pro.
What can I use the Surface Hub for?
The Surface Hub can be reserved for presentations, demonstrations and workshops, utilizing the screen and the space available in the library commons area. The Surface Hub can also be used for collaborative projects, which will benefit from the integration of web-browsing, Microsoft Office, Skype and electronic whiteboard functions. Check the Tech Tuesdays schedule for demonstrations on how to use the Surface Hub.
How do I reserve the Surface Hub?
Reservations are managed by the library. When you book the Surface Hub, you can also reserve the space in front of the screen (e.g. for presentations). Your scheduled time will also be registered as an online meeting, allowing people to follow the presentation remotely. When you receive the calendar invitation, simply forward the invitation to anyone that you would like to be able to join the session online. During the session, you must activate Skype to allow people to join remotely.
Setting up the space is the responsibility of the person making the reservation. It is recommended that you allow an extra half hour for setting up for a large group. It is also the user's responsibility to return the space to its original configuration at the end of their session.Reserve the Surface Hub View today's bookings View all bookings Contact the library
