Welcome Cornell University alumni! The staff and resources of the Samuel J. Wood Library at Weill Cornell Medicine are available to you to support your research, learning and practice.
Library Access
Alumni of Cornell University may access the Samuel J. Wood Library with a Library dip card. This barcoded card provides entry through the Library gates and allows you to borrow eligible library materials. A dip card is not required to access free and select online library resources.
To access the Library and receive a dip card you must:
1. Visit the Library's SMARTDesk with valid photo ID and NetId information
2.A dip card will be issued to you with your name and renewal date printed on it
Please note: Dip cards are valid for one year and must be renewed in person on or before the date printed on the card.
Alumni and all patrons of the Library must adhere to the Rules for User Conduct.
To obtain library access, alumni must visit the Library's SMARTDesk to register and have their alumni status verified. Once your alumni status has been confirmed, you will be issued a library dip card. This card must be presented each time you enter the Library.
Please note: Alumni access is limited to on site use of library spaces and resources. Alumni privileges do not include borrowing privileges, Interlibrary Services, TripSaver requests, off site access to electronic resources, or access to any of the Library's affiliated institutions.
