Reflecting on the Medical Response to 9/11: 20 Years Later

By Nicole Milano on August 31, 2021 - 11:39am

Join us on September 9, 2021 at 5:00 PM EST via Zoom for our first Heberden Society session of the year! Dr. Judy Tung will be moderating a panel discussion with individuals who served in a variety of medical capacities on September 11, 2001: Dr. Antonio Dajer, who was the Assistant Medical Director of the Emergency Department at NYU Downtown Hospital (now NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital), which treated 350 patients within the first two hours after the attacks; Dr. Bruce Logan, who was the Chief of Medicine at NYU Downtown Hospital (now NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital), which converted an old cafeteria on the ground floor of the hospital to treat patients coming in with minor injuries; and Nurse Barbara Ritchwood, who was a Senior Staff Nurse in the Burn Intensive Care Unit at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine and worked for 13 straight days after 9/11.

As always, this Heberden Society panel is free and open to all.

This panel has already taken place. The recording is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIZH4wuJHUI
