Reserve Materials
Reserve materials must be used while in the Library. Class reserves are shelved behind the Library SMARTDesk and must be returned to the desk within three hours. Open shelf reserves are shelved in the Library Commons. We request that open shelf reserves be returned to the Library SMARTDesk when you are done with them as a courtesy to other users who may need them. Both open shelf reserve and class reserve materials may be checked out for overnight use three hours before closing time. Items borrowed overnight must be returned within three hours of the Library's opening the following day. (See Library hours).
If you are a faculty member looking to put a book on reserve for your class, please see our Course Reserves page.
Overdue Policy
In conjunction with our library affiliates at Memorial Sloan Kettering and Rockefeller University, the Samuel J. Wood Library may block the borrowing privileges of any patron who receives a second overdue notice for a delinquent item. Borrowing privileges may be blocked at all three libraries. Patrons whose privileges are blocked must resolve the delinquency at the library from which the material was borrowed. Additionally, fines will accrue for three-hour items that are overdue. Overdue notices are sent out as a courtesy; patrons are ultimately responsible for returning and renewing materials on time.
