How to make an onsite research appointment:
The Medical Center Archives is open for onsite research by appointment in our reading room from 9:30-12:30 and 1:30-4:30 Monday through Friday each week. Researchers must request their appointment date(s) and specify the collections and boxes they wish to view at least one week in advance. This allows us to prepare the collections for your visit, including checking for any HIPAA, FERPA, institutional, or preservation restrictions.
If you have a specific collection you would like to work with, please fill out our request archival materials form. An archivist will be in touch to schedule your appointment and provide additional information.
If you would like information or overview on the materials we may have on your research topic, please fill out our ask a reference question form, and an archivist will be in touch with you to discuss your project.
Please use the PHI form to request information for historic patient records from 1800-1932 and send to us via postal mail only. For recent patient records (after 1932), please contact Medical Records Department at 212-746-0530.
