Transfer an existing New York Times account

1. Visit accessnyt.com and search for Cornell University

2. To access the Cornell Academic Group Pass, you must use your WCM email address for The New York Times.
  • If your med.cornell.edu account with The New York Times is already linked to the Group Access, you will receive a page notice that states "Your pass is active and will expire on December 31st, 2030 at 12:00 am."
  • If your med.cornell.edu account is not linked to the Academic Group Pass, you will be prompted to login in to the nytimes.com. If your current New York Times account is set up with a non-Cornell email address, you will have to set up a new account with The New York Times using your med.cornell.edu email address in order to access the free Academic Group Pass. See instructions for New Subscribers above.

3. Once your Cornell All Access Group Access is activated, you have two options for your current paid subscription:

  • Cancel your paid subscription: Subscribers with individual paid subscriptions can choose to cancel once you obtain your All Access academic pass. You can locate more information on canceling your existing personal subscriptions.
  • Retain both: You can retain both your paid subscriptions and your complimentary academic pass. Some NYT subscribers choose to continue their paid subscription because they have paid family plans.
