New Digitized Publications Documenting Women’s Medical Education and Health in New York City

The Medical Center Archives is excited to announce that new historical publications highlighting women’s medical education and treatment in New York City from the 19th and mid-20th centuries have been digitized and are now available online. Digitizing these resources was made possible thanks to a grant from the Metropolitan New York Library Council (METRO).

Asthma: Mild to Major- Myths, Medications, and Management

This seminar will explore asthma - from minor cases to life-threatening attacks - including its risk factors and symptoms, as well as treatment options. The session will also address commons myths and misconceptions about asthma.

Dr. Meredith Turetz is Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and Assistant Attending Physician at NewYork-Presbyterian. She is certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine.

Ledidi

Ledidi Core is a secure web-based platform for research projects and clinical registries with functionality for study design, creation of data entry forms and eCRFs in combination with built-in-tools for statistical analysis and data visualization. The statistical analyses include descriptive statistics, parametric and non-parametric tests, regression analyses, contingency tables and survival analyses. It is suited for international collaborations, or for single or multi-center projects.

Health Education Seminar: Pulmonary Fibrosis

This seminar will provide an overview of pulmonary fibrosis, including its causes, how it is diagnosed, common symptoms, and both medication and non-medication approaches to treatment. The session will also cover some of the ongoing research for treatment.

Dr. Kerri Aronson is a Pulmonologist at Weill Cornell Medicine’s Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
