Staff members of the Samuel J. Wood Library are happy to serve as examination proctors for NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine staff whenever possible. We will try to accommodate all requests but cannot guarantee that we will be able to fulfill all requirements in every case.
Please note: WCM Medical and Graduate students requiring this service should contact Student Affairs: (212) 746-1062.
Arrangements for proctoring must be made at least one week in advance. In some instances, the person who fills out the paperwork may not be the actual proctor. Please verify that the examining institution or organization allows this arrangement, and that all other criteria can be met before proceeding.
The exam must be taken in the Library Commons. Please expect some auditory and visual distractions. Exams must be scheduled during hours that the library is open and at least two permanent staff members are on the premises. Staff members monitor the library commons at all times and will check ID cards before an exam. Unless your institution specifies otherwise, you may use your own laptop. However, network connectivity issues do arise in the library, and we cannot guarantee that you will be able to take an exam at a given time. Please allow enough time to reschedule if necessary.
You are responsible for making all arrangements with the institution conducting the exam. This includes arranging for the delivery of the exam and/or any related paperwork in a timely manner and providing postage for anything that must be mailed back.
