To streamline workflows, reduce costs, and better support education, research, and clinical care, the Samuel J. Wood Library is migrating to the same systems — EBSCO Discovery and FOLIO — used and managed by Cornell University Library. This alignment will help reduce the cost of maintaining separate systems and provide additional efficiencies across campuses.
These updates will impact our search system, OneSearch. These changes are designed to improve how you find and access library resources.
Starting June 25 when using the library’s search boxes, you will notice:
- A new look and layout
- Search results may appear somewhat different or in a new order
- Options to refine your search (such as limiting to peer‑reviewed or full text) will still be available, but may be located in different places.
- Viewing loans, requests, and checkouts will continue to be available, though access points and menus may look different.
You will still be able to search for articles, books, and other materials in one place, with expanded access to a wide range of resources.
Additionally, on July 7, a global update will be applied to the navigation and layout of OneSearch.
Changes you may notice:
- Navigation menus move to the top of the screen
- Filters are easier to access and remain available while you search
- A cleaner results page with more items visible at once
- Saved items and alerts grouped under a “MyEBSCO” menu
These updates reorganize the interface but do not change how searching works.
